Eagle Materials Inc. - designed by Peterson & Company. not sure what they were trying to achieve but when I look at it all I can think of is FedEx. Makes me feel like they tried to recreate the brilliance of the FedEx logo and missed the point. FedEx was great because of it’s typography and message and how well they came together. Once you mess with the letter form isn’t like cheating? It’s a forced eagle not a fluent arrow…. Just my opinion…

Chocolate Bar Packaging Design. Brand: Vinyard Chocolates, chocolates meant to be paired with wine. Cocoa beans imported from Columbia, therefore I tried bringing in some colorful flare.

Sustainable Packaging Project

Objective: Using only recycled material, create a personal care line.

Brand: Gardenics

About: Gardenics is an organic soap line with a flower extract base.

*What Makes this packaging unique? - All of the soap’s packaging is biodegradable. The container is an organic shape, pod-like and reminiscent of a seed. The labeling is all handmade recycled paper with flower pedals and seeds.

Objective/Selling Point: When you purchase one of these bars of soap, you are to take the molded pod-shaped soap from its container. Once you’ve removed the soap for personal use, Gardenics then asks the consumer to place the label (embedded with seeds of the flower whose extracts are being used) inside the biodegradable pod container and plant it in their garden. Not only do you get to enjoy the fresh scent of flowers when using the product, but you can then grow these flowers in your home garden which are then used to make the product. There are many variations and flowers to choose from. Ex. If you buy the Pink Rose Organic Soap you would be able to grow this flower after extracting the product for use.

This product has an infinite life cycle and further promotes the Green initiative!
